WHERE IS YOUR OFFICE LOCATED?

 

Melinda's office is conveniently located in the Metro Square One office building on the corner of Route 60 (Townline Road) and Deerpath Roads in Vernon Hills, IL.  The office is just west of I94, Hawthorn Mall, and Milwaukee Avenue and east of Route 45 and Butterfield Road.

 

HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

Contact the office at 847-227-9624.  Melinda has office hours Monday - Saturday including evening appointments.  

 

IS PARKING AVAILABLE NEARBY?

 

There is ample free parking in the Metro Square One lot.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE? HOW MUCH DO SESSIONS COST?

 

Melinda is an "in network" insurance provider for Illinois Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO, BCBS Blue Choice PPO, Cigna, and Optum/United plans.

 

Melinda is an "out of network" provider for other types of insurance. If you do not have Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO or Optum/United, she will provide you with a "super bill" that you can submit directly to your insurance company for partial reimbursement in accordance with your individual policy. For individuals using out of network benefits, payment in full is expected at each session.

 

Melinda is able to work with most corporate Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), including Optum/United Health.

 

If you would like to utilize your Health Spending Account (HSA) or Flex Spending Account (FSA) benefits, Melinda will supply you with a statement to submit to your employee benefits provider.  

 

Sessions range from $150 - $180 for a 45 - 58 minute session.

WHAT’S YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to miss an appointment, Melinda requires at least 24 hours of notice. If you do not provide 24 hours of notice, you will be charged the full fee for your appointment. At your first appointment, Melinda will request a credit card to be placed on file.

 

HOW OFTEN ARE SESSIONS SCHEDULED?

You can schedule your sessions to meet your needs and goals. Initially once weekly, or at times twice weekly, appointments are useful until you see an improvement in progress toward meeting your goals.  In some instances, crisis appointments may be available on a limited basis.

 

WILL I BE ABLE TO CONTACT YOU OUTSIDE OF OFFICE HOURS?

Melinda does not have an on-call emergency answering service. On nights and weekends, you may send a text message, leave a voicemail, or send an email, but she will not respond until the next business day during regular office hours.

 

If you are experiencing a life threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

IS WHAT I TALK ABOUT WITH YOU CONFIDENTIAL?

Yes—what you say in Melinda's office stays in her office, within the limits of the law. We abide by privacy regulations set forth by HIPAA. 

 

If you would like Melinda to collaborate with other providers or schools, you will be asked to sign a release of information form.
 

DO YOU WORK WITH YOUNG CHILDREN?

 

Melinda is not currently able to accept new clients under the age of 18 years old.

CAN YOU DO SESSIONS WITH PEOPLE WHO LIVE OUTSIDE OF ILLINOIS?

At this time Melinda Gronen is not able to provide sessions to individuals who live outside of Illinois.

 

DO YOU PERFORM EVALUATIONS OR RECOMMENDATIONS FOR COURT?

 

Melinda does NOT provide any forensic evaluations for the purposes of family, juvenile, criminal, or domestic violence court. Melinda is experienced in working with the legal system and can provide support and referrals as needed, but will not provide any evaluations or recommendations in court on behalf, or against, any individual.

 

ARE YOU CULTURALLY ATTUNED/SENSITIVE? DO YOU WORK WITH DIVERSE PEOPLE?

 

Melinda has extensive experience working with diverse individuals and families from many walks of life from an intersectional perspective. Within any therapeutic setting it is important for you to feel comfortable, understood, and affirmed by your therapist.

 

DO YOU OFFER THERAPY FOR SAME-SEX COUPLES OR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE IN THE LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITY?

Yes, Melinda offers affirming therapy to any couple or individual. Melinda is sex positive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and has experience working with all family configurations and relationship types - including polyamorous and open relationships.

 

DO YOU PRESCRIBE MEDICATIONS?

Melinda is not a psychiatrist or medical doctor. If it is determined together that medications may be an option for you, Melinda will provide referrals for qualified psychiatrists and help coordinate care with that provider.
